How it works
From a search to a confirmed appointment
This is the company’s own description of the flow, in its own order.
Search
Fill in the search criteria: specialty, insurance, ZIP code.
Compare
A group of doctors is displayed. Research each of them and choose the one who meets your needs.
Pick a slot
Open that doctor's calendar and put your name in any empty appointment slot.
Confirm
Answer the questions on the next page. The doctor's office confirms or rejects the appointment.
Reminded
You get a confirmation and a reminder by email, phone, text — whichever you chose.
No fee to the patient
There is no DrAvailable.com fee. Check with the doctor on their fee.
Instant
If you cannot wait for a slot
Appointment booking was one half of the service. The other half was a request for a call: fill the form, and a doctor or a consultant calls back shortly.
- Speak to a doctor — form in, call back out.
- Chat — messaging came before the appointment.
- Prescriptions — the 2013 launch page promised prescriptions through the phone.
After you book
It was not booked until the office said so
The office confirms
A request went to the practice; the practice accepted or rejected it. Then an email said “your appointment is booked”.
Reminders, your way
Home phone, mobile, text or email — the system used whichever the patient chose.
Cancelled slots too
Openings included slots that had just been released, which is how a same-day appointment happened.
